Breaking News: Dr. Seth Owusu-Agyei Re-elected unopposed as INDEPTH Board Chairman

Dr Seth Owusu-Agyei was yesterday, 25^th September 2008, re-elected unopposed to continue the good work as the Chairman of the INDEPTH Board of Trustees at the 2008 AGM in Tanzania.

He has been the Director of the Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) since 2002. Dr Seth Owusu-Agyei is an epidemiologist with extensive experience in the design and conduct of clinical and field intervention trials.

Dr Owusu-Agyei obtained his PhD training in Malaria Epidemiology at the Swiss Tropical Institute, Basel, Switzerland (2001).

He worked at the Navrongo Health Research Centre, Ministry of Health, Ghana as a Senior Health Research Scientist & Head of Biomedical Department until his transfer to head the KHRC, Ministry of Health, Ghana. He was appointed as the Director of the KHRC and also worked on part-time basis as a Lecturer in the Departments of Epidemiology & Population Health and Infectious Tropical Diseases, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and as Senior Lecturer at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, Legon.

He holds other positions:

• Chairman of the Scientific Review Committee of the Kintampo Health Research Centre
• Member (non-voting) of Institutional Review Board, of Kintampo Health Research Centre
• Member of the Newmont Gold Mining committee on Community Health & Social Welfare Committee.
